Newcomb Central School District is seeking a full-time Technology Coordinator. This position involves responsibility for administering and participating in the operation and maintenance of computer networks, school technology, and servers. The work involves analyzing hardware and software network problems, researching new products, and managing the Help Desk. The candidate may be assigned to work with Local Area Networks or Wide Area Networks with attention to cyber security trends and solutions. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief School Officer with wide leeway allowed for planning and carrying out the details of the work. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:Researches, installs, and maintains networking equipment and district technology including workstations, mobile devices, and student devices. Responsible for hardware and software solutions as they pertain to the educational environment. Support student technologies including the deployment and maintenance of devices, student accounts and educational programming. Oversees corrective action to resolve problems involving the network and educational technology including computers, camera systems, copiers, and wireless communications. Demonstrates and trains users in operating computer hardware and software as it applies to the educational setting. Consults with vendors, distributors, and users regarding the purchase of and/or installation of computer hardware, and software. Plans, analyzes, and writes proposals to help find educational solutions and provides cost estimates for systems, inclusive of short and long-range planning for district technologies. Coordinates and facilitates the district Technology Committee and provides ongoing training for users. Supervises Help Desk function, ensuring that service requests are handled and resolved in an efficient and timely manner. Maintains the district website.PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Ability to define and recommend computer hardware and software;Ability to detect and resolve computer breakdowns and problems;Ability to write proposals and cost estimates;Ability to develop and conduct workshops related to Educational Technology needs;Ability to configure workstations on the local network;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administration and colleagues in a leadership capacity and as a member of a team;Ability to train others in instructional technologies;MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer technology, data processing, management information systems, information resource management, or a related field.(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college with an associate degree in computer science, computer technology, data processing, management information systems, information resource management, or a related field.(C) Completion of an industry-certified network training program.Apply on OLAS
