City School District of New RochelleEmbracing Diversity: Driving Success The City School District of New Rochelle educates over 11,000 students starting in pre-K through 12th grade from a multitude of backgrounds. We are seeking to temporarily employ an individual to teach engaging physical education lessons to our elementary students. We are looking for someone who will be energetic and eager to integrate character education into the fundamental skills that support physical literacy for our young learners. Must be NYS Certified in Physical Education Minimum of 2 months likely to extend. Responsibilities:Draw on an extensive repertoire of instructional strategies to promote clear learning targets and content-specific outcomes aligned with national and state standards for all learners including differentiation for language learners and students with disabilities. Collaborate with colleagues on the use of facilities and units of study. Integrate SEL practices into the instruction of sports, leisure, recreation activities, and games. Progress monitor students to support full participation in class and facilitate outreach strategies for students who are not on track for appropriate credit accumulation. Maintain record-keeping on student completion of assignments, student progress in learning, and non-instructional records.Establish and maintain parent communication. Seek out opportunities for professional development and solicit feedback on practice from both supervisors and colleagues.
