(Beginning September 2026). Essential Expectations: The district is seeking candidates who: Hold high expectations for all students and deeply value the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion Have a strong commitment to supporting the academic as well as the social/emotional well-being of students Demonstrate a deep capacity for utilizing research-informed learning strategies, data-driven instructional practices and professional self-reflection to improve student outcomes Possess a thorough understanding of how to use differentiated instruction to actively and meaningfully engage students in learning subject area content and skills Will dynamically integrate learning technologies and digital resources Are knowledgeable about evidence-based approaches for improving literacy skills and can actively engage students in the study of world history through authentic/project-based assessments Can collaborate well with the grade level team, Humanities Team, special educators, ENL teachers, guidance staff and administrators to implement curriculum and address student needs Consistently involve and communicate with students and their families to support effective learning Qualifications Candidates must possess the NYSED certification(s) necessary for teaching 7 th and 8 th grade social studies.
