Assistant Principal - Albany NYPOSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for oversight of all disciplines for school programs and day to day management of student discipline and behavior management for all students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Manage student discipline related matters in accordance with the student code of conduct.Act as representative for principal at all meetings related to suspension and reinstatement.Participate in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and refresher training.Maintain all records related to discipline and report monthly to administration and Quality Management.Facilitate monthly student management data review meetings and reports.Participate in school Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) yellow and red teams.Communicate with parents and guardians on a regular basisUnder supervision of director of education, supervise assigned school teachers and teacher assistants.Must serve as an instructional leader for the NYS learning standards.Manage student discipline related matters in accordance with the student code of conduct.Act as representative for principal at all meetings related to suspension and reinstatement.Maintain all records related to discipline and report monthly to administration and Quality ManagementFacilitate monthly student management data review meetings and reports.Supervise/implement the schoolwide Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS).Under supervision of principal, supervise assigned teachers and teacher assistants.Participate in Special Education meetings.Consult and collaborate with staff on Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans and Individualized Education PlansConsult and collaborate with staff on FBA, BIP and IEP requirementsConsult with staff regarding behavioral, emotional and/or educational difficulties of specific studentsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCERequires a Master’s degreeAt least five to seven years’ related experienceNYS Education certification is preferred
