The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology is seeking full-time and part-time school social workers to provide services to students in various BOCES programs or non-public schools throughout Nassau County. The successful candidates will work closely with the administration of the assigned school(s). Students benefiting from this service may include those with social, emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Participating in the Committee for Special Education (CSE) process for students at various locationsProviding individual and/or group counseling sessions for studentsResponding to crisis situations and providing appropriate referrals and consultationCollaborating with all members of the school community and participating in staff meetingsMaintaining accurate, appropriate, and timely records and reportsREQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification as a School Social WorkerValid and current Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social WorkerStrong written and verbal communication skillsTwo or more years of related experience is preferredAbility to travel throughout Nassau County
