Description:The Nassau BOCES’ Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs seeks a Career and Technical Education teacher for Computer Technology. The 1st year program incorporates a basic computer introductory and repair course that will help students understand and learn the basic concepts, functions, and nomenclature of computer technology. Exposure to these areas will allow students to acquire knowledge on motherboards, storage media, various expandable memory, multimedia cards, operating systems, and Microsoft Office Suite IC3 certification. Network Cabling Technology / Home Technology Integration is the second year of the program. The second-year sequence involves identifying networks, setup, and configuration of various wired networks. This also involves identifying and making various network cables such as UTP/STP, Fiber Optic and Coaxial cables setup and configuration of modular cabling systems. Students are expected to be trained on soft skills, customer relations and corporate adequacy in order to successfully pass their CompTIA’s A+ Certification.Requirements: NYS Certification (Transitional A, Initial, Professional) in Computer Technology, 7-12 is required 2+ years of verified experience as a tradesperson or teacher in the Computer Technology/Network Cabling areas of CTE and has relationships with professionals in the trade Experience with secondary student population and technology in the classroom are preferred Required certification: CompTIA A+ Certification Recommended certifications: CompTIA Network +, CompTIA Mobility +, CompTIA Security +, Certiport IC3 Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering degree is preferred
