Montauk Union Free School District is seeking an experienced Business Administrator to oversee the business office and support services. The successful candidate should have 2+ years’ experience in a public-school business office with a track record of success. The primary responsibility of managing the financial affairs of the district requires a solid understanding and experience with school fund accounting, board policy, NYSED regulations and state aid process and requirements, purchasing and risk management, negotiations, budgeting for the district’s $24M budget, strong analytical skills, and excellent supervisory and communications skills. Success in the position requires problem-solving, self-starting, and team player mentality.General Statement of Duties:• Demonstrated knowledge of New York State Education Law, New York State Civil Service Law, and legal requirements.• Manage departments including Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Human Resources, Custodial, Transportation, and Technology.• Development and presentation of the annual school district budget.• Financial Reporting to NYSED and assisting preparation of annual audited financial statements.• Maintaining positive and professional relationships, while communicating, and collaborating with leadership, administrators, faculty and staff, and community members.• Performing all other responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Qualifications:• Minimum of two years school business experience• NYS Certification – School Business Administrator (SBA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL)• Working knowledge of the district’s financial accounting system (nVision) and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and GoogleSalary: Commensurate with experiencePlease apply through OLAS with your letter of interest and resume, to Mr. Joshua Odom – Superintendent/Principal of the Montauk Union Free School District no later than Friday, August 2, 2024.
