The Malverne School District is seeking strong candidates who possess New York State certification in Visual Arts for a .8 High School Art teaching position. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts Valid NYS Teacher certification in Visual Arts K-12 Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Knowledge and integration of NY State Arts Standards Studio Art Classes Contribute and display student work in District K-12 Art Exhibit Submit students for All-County Art Exhibit Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development. Submit weekly lesson plans to Supervisor Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities Foster and maintain effective communication with families. Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport. Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels. Enthusiastically participate in collaborative co-curricular and extracurricular teams; draw students into these projects Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting and a variety of “masters” techniques Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Principal or other appropriate administrator.
