Malverne School District is seeking candidates who hold NYS certification in Chemistry for a full-time, tenure-track position starting September 2024.REQUIREMENTS:• Must hold valid NYS Teacher certification in Chemistry.• Additional certifications in science and prior experience are preferred.• Full NYS fingerprint clearanceESSENTIAL DUTIES:• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities to facilitate active learning.• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.• Identify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students.• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.• Use relevant technology to support instruction.• Observe and evaluate student performance and development.• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments as appropriate.• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.• Update records accurately and completely as required by district policies.• Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures and enforcing classroom, school, and district rules and procedures.• Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities.• Stay current with the most recent developments in the appropriate subject area.• Cooperate with and participate in the planning, implementing, and evaluating school programs.• Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and guardians.• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Chairperson, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.
