The Malverne UFSD is seeking an interim principal from February - June 2024.Minimum Requirements: A record of successful elementary school teaching and administrative experience.Knowledge of current educational trends, best practices, and curriculum development.Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster positive relationships and the capacity to effectively communicate a clear vision for the school.Proficiency in using educational technology and application.New York State Certification – SDL and/or SBLPerformance Responsibilities: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning by facilitating the use of data to assess student performance and guide instructional decisions.Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.Support professional growth by providing and/or encouraging participation in workshops, conferences, and training sessions.Possess a deep understanding of the science of reading with a working knowledge of programs such as, Wilson Reading, Heggerty, Fundations, Orton-Gillingham, and the ability to ensure their effective implementation. Nurture the social, emotional, and physical well-being of all students and staff by creating a supportive school culture.Foster a sense of community and belonging by promoting diversity, equity, & inclusivity.Act as a liaison between the school and the community by forging positive relationships with local organizations, specifically the PTSA.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including scheduling, attendance, and facilities management.Encourage the use of instructional technology throughout the curriculum.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsReports to: The Superintendent of Schools
