QualificationsNYS Certification in French 7-12 Native or native-like fluency in FrenchPreference will be given to candidates with multiple language certifications and/or ENL certification Thorough knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards for World Languages (Modern Languages)General Job Responsibilities: Plan, prepare and facilitate engaging, standards-aligned, student-centered lessons to develop students’ language skills in French and build their enthusiasm for hispanophone cultures. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Familiar with Total Physical Response (TPR) as a means for language acquisition. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. Identify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress. Assess students’ performance accurately and regularly while providing thoughtful, meaningful and actionable feedback for improvement, and communicating results to students, parents and colleagues in a timely manner. Create differentiated lessons that address individual student learning styles via formative data Use technology to enhance & augment instruction; Provide equitable and culturally competent learning practices; Work collaboratively in a team to support student learning; Support all students with diverse needs (ENL, IEP, 504, etc.) Communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomes Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities Enjoy working with adolescents and bring energy and excitement to the classroom each day Identify & participate in opportunities to expand his/her skills through professional development. Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians.
