School Psychologist With a population of approximately 300 students, Menands Union Free School District is a unique Pre-K-8th grade school. We are a very supportive school community, and work collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of our students in a nurturing environment. Menands School is accepting applications for a full-time School Psychologist who is passionate about supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. This full-time position will be split between Menands UFSD (.5 FTE) and another neighboring school (.5 FTE). The School Psychologist will play a critical role in the evaluation, identification, and support of students with disabilities, while also contributing to a comprehensive, tiered system of supports. This individual will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide data-driven recommendations, participate in problem-solving processes, and support students across a continuum of needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for initial referrals and re-evaluations, and clearly communicate results to staff and families Participate in CSE and Section 504 meetings; support development of IEPs, including present levels, goals, and program recommendations, in alignment with state and federal requirements Provide IEP-mandated counseling services (individual and/or group) and monitor student progress toward social-emotional goals Use academic and social-emotional data (including screenings) to guide decision-making, inform interventions, and determine referrals through IST, 504, or CSE processes Collaborate with staff to design, implement, and monitor intervention plans that address both academic and social-emotional needs Provide consultation to teachers and teams on classroom strategies, behavior supports, and development of FBAs and BIPs Work collaboratively with families, outside agencies, and the support services team (school counselor, social worker, PPS Coordinator, school nurse) to ensure coordinated, student-centered support Support staff in identifying and addressing social-emotional barriers to learning Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment Interested candidates must have NYS certification as a School Psychologist. Preference will be given to candidates with experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations, strong knowledge of special education regulations and processes, and experience with MTSS/RTI frameworks.
