With a population of approximately 300 students, Menands Union Free School District is a unique K-8 school and district. We are a very supportive school community, and work collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of our students in a nurturing environment. Menands School is accepting applications for a full time, probationary grant funded Elementary AIS Mathematics Teacher. The successful candidate will hold NYS Teacher certification grades 1 - 6 or comparable. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience providing math and/or AIS instruction. Job Responsibilities & Roles include, but are not limited to:Develop and administer curriculum consistent with Next Generation Learning Standards using best practices in the area of mathematics.Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning, using both a push in and a pull out model.Develop lesson plans and instructional material and translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needsMaintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement.Collaborates and plans interventions and instruction with grade level teachers and teams.Analyze individual student data to develop targeted interventions as part of the Student Support Team.Qualified, interested candidates should submit via OLAS a job specific cover letter, resume and any other supporting documentation.
