Notice of Anticipated VacancyMay 28, 2025 Search Extended: Previous applicants need not reapplyDistrict Treasurer District OfficeThis position is available July 1, 2025Position Description: The District Treasurer will maintain a system for the preservation of all financial transactions in the District, responsible for accounting and audit functions, cash flow, investment of district funds, filing of all year-end state and local reports. The District Treasurer will assist in the supervision of the Purchasing and Accounts Receivables departments. Any additional duties as appropriate and requested by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Business and/or his/her designee.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. NYSED fingerprinting Clearance Civil Service Approval RequiredDuties and Responsibilities:The District Treasurer is a key member of the district’s financial team, providing responsible record keeping andother expertise in the following areas: Reviews for accuracy the general ledger, trial balances, revenue status, appropriation status reports and performs analyses, and account reconciliations of individual balance sheet and appropriation accounts, preparing and recording journal entries as needed, for all funds under district management.Revenue, Billing, and Accounts Receivable: Oversight of and performs data gathering, invoicing, and collection of tuition, taxes due from other districts, health services, and special education district of location costs.Prepares all required financial reports as required by the Board of Education, Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, and by State and Federal agencies having jurisdiction over public school funds. Prepares annual financial statements and all schedules in support of the annual financial statements, including the GASB 34 conversion.Manages the day-to-day operation of purchasing, receivable, accountants.Manages all aspects of the district’s operating funds and reserve cash balances, including receipt and reconciliation of all funds from the federal, state, county, and local government, investing, funding of disbursements, timely and accurate debt service payments, cash receipts, tax collection and bank relationships, investments and internal controls over same.Prepares the monthly Treasurer’s Report to the Board of Education.
