Manhasset Crew is an established scholastic rowing program committed to fostering academic excellence, athletic success, and providing a supportive environment for the athletes to establish bonds, build confidence and sportsmanship to work cohesively together to achieve a common goal. We are seeking an Assistant Coach to help lead our scholastic rowing program to new heights.Under the supervision of, and in coordination with, the Board of Directors of the Friends of Manhasset Crew, the team’s governing organization, the Assistant Coach will be responsible for supporting a rowing program in all aspects of on- and off-the-water team development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in coaching rowing at the high school or collegiate level, strong leadership, managerial and administrative skills, and a passion for mentoring young athletes.Key Responsibilities:Draw from a strong working knowledge of rowing to plan and facilitate daily, meaningful practices, execute effective teaching/coaching techniques during races and design and implement on- and off-water training programs that prepare athletes for competitive success.Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in the rowing program.Comply with required and appropriate safety policies and procedures.Adhere to the rowing program budget and ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.Support boathouse and equipment organization and maintenance. Qualifications:Highly motivated candidates, possessing strong leadership and communication skills.Experience as a competitive rower at the collegiate or national level.Prior coaching experience at the youth levels.Demonstrated commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.Must complete necessary school onboarding process.Meet all NYS Coaching Certification Requirements.
