Notice of Anticipated VacancyMay 12, 2023PrincipalShelter Rock K-6 Elementary SchoolThis probationary position is available August 1, 2023 We are seeking a highly educated highly qualified educational leader to serve as principal of Shelter Rock K-6 Elementary School. The Shelter Rock K-6 Elementary School is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence ranked among the best schools in the country. The successful candidate will demonstrate high-quality, collaborative, instructional leadership, communication, and accountability skills in executing the essential duties responsibilities outlined below. This position reports to Superintendent of Schools and is provided a four-year probationary appointment. This position is a part of the Manhasset Administrators and Supervisors Association (MASA). The duties, responsibilities, and other functions as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and /or his/ her designee, are listed below.Qualifications: Master’s degree (minimum); demonstrated record of successful elementary administrative and teaching experience; prior experience as an elementary school principal with experience working with students with disabilities preferred; and appropriate NYS Building Level administrative certification required.Essential duties and responsibilities:Promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff to achieve excellence in academic performance by nurturing each student's abilities and encouraging a growth mindset.Nurture the social emotional and physical well-being of all students by fostering a supportive school culture.Maintain a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.Collaborate with district and building administrators to ensure high quality curriculum development and program evaluation that include opportunities for highly effective staff development.Oversee personnel management, budget management, safety, and emergency procedures, and facilities operations of the school.Effectively communicate and collaborate with parents, community members, and colleagues.Prioritize visibility, accessibility, and responsiveness to parents, students, and staff.Communicate regularly with the Superintendent of Schools about the needs, successes, and general operation of the school.Qualified candidates should apply immediately via OLAS, no later than May 30, 2023, with the letter of interest proof of NYS certification, and resume to:Dr. Gaurav PassiSuperintendent of SchoolsAn equal opportunity employer
