We value differences as strengths and strive to cultivate a shared ethic of care, high expectations, and collective responsibility across our schools.RESPONSIBILITIES: · Assist CoLAB teachers in delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in engineering, design, and fabrication· Support students in hands-on work across the CoLAB spaces, including the woodshop, metalshop, prototyping studio, and large group instructional areas· Help maintain a safe, organized, and professional learning environment with a strong emphasis on tool safety, lab protocols, and collaborative project workflows· Assist in the setup, maintenance, and use of equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and other digital fabrication tools· Support students in project-based learning, design challenges, and interdisciplinary STEM initiatives· Promote an inclusive and affirming classroom environment that supports all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and ENL needs· Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families, both orally and in writing POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: · Passion for STEM education, maker-centered learning, and project-based teaching· Comfort with tools, machinery, and fabrication processes—or a willingness to learn and be trained· Ability to support and engage students from diverse backgrounds and with varied learning needs· Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills· Flexibility, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset· Dedication to professional growth and contributing to a dynamic team· Possession of appropriate New York State Certification REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of STEM COMPENSATION: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
