HIGH SCHOOL COMPUTER SCIENCE / TECHNOLOGY TEACHER The Mamaroneck Union Free School District seeks collaborative, equity-minded employees to join our team in the state-of-the-art STEM Lab, The CoLAB. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, prepare and deliver culturally responsive and relevant lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and engagementConduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needsCommunicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growthUtilize relevant technology and instructional materials to support and differentiate instructionEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleaguesSupport all students with diverse needs (ENL, IEP, 504, etc.)Encourage family involvement in each student’s education and ensure effective communication with students and familiesPromote a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming and affirming for all students Work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planningCommunicate effectively orally and in writingMeet professional teacher education requirements of school, district and state POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards and/or NYS Technology Education Learning StandardsKnowledge of and the ability to plan and teach classes on a variety of computer science and/or technology topics including:CybersecurityNetworkingGeneral Programming (Java and/or Python)RoboticsWeb Development (HTML, CSS, Javascript)Electricity/Electronics Engineering3D Design and PrintingCAD, design, and drawingInnovative mindset for incorporating technology, digital fabrication (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, CNC routers) & mechanical fabrication into technology coursesIn depth knowledge of the engineering and design processKnowledge of the RTI process and ability to effectively communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growthDemonstrated knowledge of NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Frameworks Ability to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomesAbility to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunitiesPossession of appropriate New York State Teacher CertificationAny STEM-based certification will suffice, though multiple certifications are much preferred KEYWORDS: STEM, STEAM, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, code, coding, programming, physics, industrial arts.
