POSITION: JV Girls Lacrosse Head CoachSUPERVISOR: Director of PE, Health & Athletics and Varsity Girls Lacrosse CoachDATE POSITIONS BECOME AVAILABLE: Spring 2025REQUIREMENTS: Must have a strong knowledge of coaching principles and the technical aspects of the sport. The coach should also have a commitment to student athlete development and a strong interest in the student as a person. DESCRIPTION: JV coach is responsible for all aspects of the JV team, including but not limited to:Attend preseason meeting Facilitate JV girls Lacrosse tryouts with input from varsity coachesDevelop a rubric of skills for a 3-5 day tryout Work collaboratively with the varsity coaches on philosophies, facilities management and schedulesProvide instruction and coaching to players, and design and implement practice plans and game strategies Strong ability to clearly communicate expectations with all stakeholders, i.e. administration, athletes and familiesModels sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials, and spectatorsAdhere to NYSPHSAA, Section 1, and school policies & regulationsCooperatively plan, organize, and implement effective practice and game plansPrioritize the safety of all players on and off the field Serve as a role model for players, and encourage sportsmanship and team unity Assist with equipment, including issuing and collecting equipment, and ensuring it is used properly and safely Coordinate facility needs and repairs with maintenance and school employees Attend all games and practices, and attend required coaches' clinics and meetings Record and inventory uniforms and equipment Accept direct supervision from varsity coachesMust hold a NYS teaching license or NYS coaching license in the sport of basketballHold or obtain valid CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse, Violence Prevention Workshop, and DASA CertificatesObtain mandated fingerprint clearance
