POSITION AVAILABLE: ImmediatelyRESPONSIBILITIES:Collaboration and communication with staff on behalf of the student’s success Support the student’s academic, emotional and behavioral needs as indicated by their IEPProvide the teacher with information about student that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiencesAttend therapies outside of the classroom with the student and support the student in applying learned strategies in the classroom.Assist with related instructional work as requiredMaintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records (e.g. lessons, attendance, pencils, paper, teaching supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reports, or meeting mandated requirementsPerforms general tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials readyREQUIREMENTS: Must be certified as a teaching assistant in NYS. REPORTS TO: Building Principal Ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
