KLSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the probationary position of 6th Grade ELA and Social Studies Teacher at John Jay Middle School beginning September 1, 2025. Qualifications:NYS Elementary certification is required.Responsibilities:Exhibits knowledge of NY State Standards.Experience with students at secondary levels is preferred.Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of students and nurtures a sense of belonging.Collaborates and communicates with colleagues, parents, and administration to best meet the needs of students.Actively participates in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice.Works with colleagues to analyze student data, share best practices, and implement research-based strategies that improve student outcomes.Hours: Full-time (10 month)Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2025Salary: $62,699 - $141,489 as per the KLDTA contract
