NYS Civil Service Law Section 75 competitive civil service protections do not apply to this position.)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:(A) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2 years of paid full time work experience in accounting/auditing/financial recordkeeping, including supervision of employees; OR:(B) Bachelor’s degree which is supplemented by 18 semester credits in Accounting and 2 years of paid full time work experience in accounting/auditing/financial recordkeeping, including supervision of employees;OR:(C) Associate’s degree in Accounting and 4 years of paid full time work experience in accounting/auditing/financial recordkeeping, including supervision of employees;OR:(D) Associate’s degree which is supplemented by 18 semester credits in Accounting and 4 years of paid full time work experience in accounting/auditing/financial recordkeeping, including supervision of employees;OR:(E) 6 years of paid full time work experience with a public school district in accounting/auditing/financial recordkeeping, including supervision of employees.This position performs a variety of professional and administrative duties ensuring the prudent receipt, management and disbursement of District funds and the maintenance of financial accounts and related records. Maintain all ledgers for various funds;Prepares monthly treasurer reports for the Board of Education;Receives district funds from various levels of government and other sources, and deposits same in the bank designated by the Board of Education;Signs all checks issued by the district;Responsible for cash flow management and investments;Prepares and/or approves monthly bank reconciliations;Maintains a debt service schedule and processes all payments related to debt service;Reconciliation of extended school year program;Prepares fund balance projections;Maintains records for capital projects, processes payments to contractors, and prepares state aid forms for each project;Provides supervisory oversight to business office staff;Interactions with towns assessor’s offices, claims, internal, and external auditors, various departments throughout the district, and NYSED;Responsible for submission of ST-3 and other state required forms;Performs a variety of related activities as required.
