George W. Hewlett High School is seeking a Special Education Mathematics Teacher for a leave replacement assignment beginning February 23, 2026 and continuing through May 25, 2026.Responsibilities include:Providing special education instruction in Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) and self-contained Geometry classesCollaborating with general education mathematics teachers in co-teaching environmentsDesigning and delivering differentiated Geometry instruction aligned with New York State learning standardsCase managing assigned students, including:Implementing and monitoring IEP goals and accommodationsMaintaining accurate compliance documentation and progress monitoringCommunicating regularly with families and service providersParticipating in CSE/IEP meetings as requiredMonitoring student academic progress and behavioral needsParticipating in department, team, and professional meetingsQualifications:Valid New York State certification in Special Education (Secondary Level) and Mathematics (Secondary)Experience teaching Geometry in ICT and self-contained settings preferredDemonstrated knowledge of co-teaching models, differentiated instruction, and special education complianceStrong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
