Harborfields Central School District is seeking a dependable, organized, and energetic individual to serve as a Cook Manager at Washington Drive Primary School (WDPS). The Cook Manager will be responsible for supporting the efficient daily operation of the school kitchen and ensuring that students receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established menus and food service standards Coordinating daily kitchen and meal service operations Directing and assisting food service staff Ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and serving area Monitoring food quantities, supplies, and inventory Receiving and properly storing food and supplies Maintaining required records and completing necessary paperwork Providing courteous and professional service to students and staff Performing related duties as assigned Qualifications: Previous experience in school, institutional, restaurant, or commercial food service preferred Experience preparing food in quantity strongly preferred Strong organizational and supervisory skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to work effectively with staff and elementary-age students Dependable, professional, and team-oriented Must meet applicable Suffolk County Civil Service requirements Applicants should apply on OLAS or send a cover letter and resume to Milton Josephs, Executive Director of Human Resources - josephsm@harborfieldscsd.org Harborfields Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
