ANTICIPATED - AVAILABLE FOR THE 2023/2024 SCHOOL YEAREffective ImmediatelyCareer Training Class (CTC) Job Coach Salary: $50.00 per hourThe HHS Career Transition Class (CTC) offers a unique opportunity for students to continue their academic progress, while also developing employability skills through authentic work experiences. The objective of the CTC Job Coach position is to bridge the gap between education and employment for students with special needs. By providing personalized coaching, guidance, and support, we aim to enhance their vocational skills, foster independence, and increase their chances of gaining and maintaining meaningful employment. The goals of the program are:• Increased Employment Opportunities: Students with special needs will have improved access to employment opportunities through personalized coaching, skill development, and workplace accommodations.• Enhanced Vocational Skills: Students will develop and strengthen job-related skills, increasing their competitiveness in the job market.• Improved Transition Success: With focused transition planning and support, students will experience a smoother transition from school to the workplace, leading to increased long-term success and independence. Job Coach will be responsible for the following:• Collaborate with students, the classroom teacher, TAs and employers to implement individualized job plans that align with the student's interests, abilities, and career goals.• Liaise with employers to identify and implement appropriate accommodations, ensuring an inclusive and supportive work environment for students with special needs.• Facilitate opportunities for students to participate in a variety of experiences to gain real-world exposure and build practical skills.• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to students and the site TA, focusing on enhancing job-related skills such as communication, time management, problem-solving, and workplace etiquette.• Collaborate with the teacher and staff on ongoing data collection to assess student progress.• Assist with the completion of relevant transition paperwork. Job Coach Requirements:• Effective communication skills.• Excellent organizational and time management skills.• Experience with data collection.• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.• Experience working as a job coach preferred.• Sound knowledge of different jobs and career paths.• Proficiency in computer applications (Google and/or Microsoft)
