The Henry Johnson Charter School is seeking a certified School Counselor to work in our existing counseling department. The school enrolls approximately 350 students enrolled in KDG- grade 4. Candidates must possess a valid School Counselor NYS Certification. Applications are being accepted through OLAS only, and this will be an on-going process until the position is filled.We seek culturally responsive individuals who foster a love of learning and inspire students to attain the highest level of success. The counselor will plan, prepare, and deliver well developed, culturally responsive sessions which enthuse and inspire students, and promote an exciting rigorous learning environment. They will assess and track relevant developmental results and needs of students and maintain a strong home, school and community connection. This position will require a high degree of creativity, cultural awareness, and problem-solving capabilities. This position will report to the Head of School.
