The James I. O'Neill High School is seeking candidates for a 1.0 FTE teacher of English as a New Language (grades 9-12) for the 2022-2023 school year.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Designing an ENL for Newcomers and SIFE Students;Co-teaching and collaborating with teachers in a variety of content areas;Providing pull out services to students as required by Part 154 of the NYS Commissioner's Regulations;Conducting NYSITELL and NYSESLAT testing;Keeping accurate and detailed student records;Monitoring and assessing student progress;Keeping an open line of communication with families;Collaborating with guidance department regarding students' needs and scheduling requirements.The successful candidate will:Have a strong knowledge of the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards;Demonstrate an understanding of effective pedagogical practices that promote a student-centered learning environment;Be a strong student advocate;Feel comfortable integrating technology as an instructional and learning tool.Requirements:NYS TESOL 9-12NYSED fingerprint clearance.Please submit a cover letter and resume for consideration.
