The Highland Falls Intermediate School is seeking candidates for a probationary Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. The school district is looking for an inspiring instructional leader that can uphold our district's core values of Readiness, Inclusion, Social Justice and Empathy.Successful candidates should have/be:Valid New York State SBL/SAS/SDA Certification.Minimum of five years teaching experience.Minimum of three-year experience as a successful building administrator.Experience designing and implementing professional development opportunities.Provide leadership in the implementation of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework to ensure academic and behavioral success for all students.Demonstrate a dynamic, high-energy leadership style with a strong background in elementary and/or middle school education.Possess a deep understanding of the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and the ability to conduct meaningful evaluations to improve instructional effectiveness.Expertise in best practices for elementary and/or middle school education, including differentiated instructional and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).Possesses a strong instructional foundation in research-based programs, with a solid understanding of the Science of Reading. Additionally, experienced in providing instructional coaching and feedback, with knowledge of programs such as Advancing Literacy, Eureka Squared, and Fundations.Comprehensive understanding of the Code of Conduct with the ability to manage student behavior effectively, including interventions for at-risk students. Knowledge and implementation of Restorative Practices to support student well-being and conflict resolution.Experience in student discipline and compliance with DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.Experience in master scheduling and management of student information systems to optimize instructional time and operational efficiency.Proven ability to cultivate a collaborative professional environment, inspiring staff engagement and enthusiasm to uphold excellence in public education.Strong commitment to building positive relationships with parents and community stakeholders, ensuring open communication and shared decision-making.Leadership experience in facilitating school-wide committees, including attendance, discipline, and data-driven decision-making.Expertise in instructional coaching and conducting classroom observations to support teacher growth and instructional excellence.Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data to drive instructional improvements, monitor progress, and develop targeted interventions.Candidates will also be required to provide New York State TEACH fingerprint clearance.Please submit a cover letter and resume through OLAS for consideration.
