Responsibilities:The Part-time Child Psychiatrist will: Conduct initial assessment, including review of intake material, review of psychiatric history and psychiatric evaluation in the traditional clinical medical mannerAssist staff with development of treatment plansMake medical eligibility recommendations.Participate in interdisciplinary meetings (i.e., Leadership Team, Staff Team Meetings).Psychiatrist services may consist of psychiatric evaluations, student observations, clinical care conferences, medication consultations and recommendations for care (in the school setting and/or the community).If needed, connect students to outpatient behavioral services, partial hospitalization programs or adult services. All services are coordinated in partnership with school counselors and/or administrators. Parents and caregivers seeking support are encouraged to discuss their child’s needs with the appropriate school personnel to determine if consultation services would be of benefit.Perform all other duties assigned.
