Dean of StudentsThe candidate for this position will:Possess a degree/certification in Psychology/Social Work/Counseling or teaching certification Ensure that the school's policies, procedures and protocols for holding all students to high behavioral expectations as stated in the Code of Conduct are understood, promoted and reinforced, equitably and consistently, by all students and staff members.Oversee the school’s tiered system and SOAR program.Assists with the development, implementation and evaluation of intervention programs that address the needs of students in need of support services. Performs a variety of administrative duties to assist the principals in managing the school.Be responsible for receiving and following up on behavior referrals. Interviewing students and collecting student statements following an incident in the school.Serve as a coach to classroom teachers and assist with proactive behavior management to curb referrals to the deans’ office. Plan and lead trainings and meetings as requested regarding behavior management in the classroom. Contact parents/guardians regarding student behavior/progress.Review behavioral data and organize data in a meaningful fashion.Closely track and prepare data and information regarding student behavior, consequences, supports and interventions to inform school-wide, subgroup and individual student strategies and decisions as a member of the school leadership team and school culture committee.Closely monitor and problem-solve student attendance challenges, in partnership with families and colleagues.Arrange and participate in case conferences as needed. Participate in CSE meetings.Keep track of interventions and discipline measures established by the team and/or Principal. Serve as one of the school’s Dignity for All Students Coordinators. Ensure the implementation of Positive Behavioral Supports (SOAR) and SEL curriculum. Develop FBAs and assist with the creation of BIPs. Supervise and evaluate counselors and crisis monitors.Other duties as assigned.
