Duties DescriptionUnder the supervision of a certified teacher, provide direct instructional services to students utilizing lesson plans, tests and teaching aids developed by a certified teacher.Reinforce subject matter previously taught by a teacher by guiding students through a prescribed and frequently repetitive learning exercise.Administer, proctor and correct tests.Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interviewMinimum QualificationsTransfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.Open to the Public: Possession of a current certificate issued by the NYS Education Department in one of the following:Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate; ORPre-Professional Teaching Assistant Certificate; ORContinuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant; ORProvisional, Initial, Permanent, or Professional Teacher Certificate.Requirements for Continued Employment:Employees must maintain New York State certification as listed above in order to continue employment with New York State.This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.Vacancy ID185991
