One year of college-supervised student-teaching experience.Licensure required as condition of employmentSkills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to relate effectively to children at all developmental levels. Expertise in diagnosing speech, hearing, and language disorders and prescribing appropriate remediation procedures.Ability to manage responsibilities independently while maintaining accountability to district and state requirements.Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the district’s designated digital platform.Performance Responsibilities:IdentificationScreen all kindergarten, third-grade, and new entrant students for potential speech, hearing, or language disorders.Accept and review referrals from classroom teachers and staff.Coordinate audiological testing with the school nurse.Document all screenings, evaluations, and referrals in the district’s platform in compliance with established timelines.TherapyProvide direct clinical services, individually or in groups, to students identified as having a speech, hearing, or language disorder.Develop individualized therapy plans and update progress notes after each session.Enter all therapy session notes, student progress reports, and treatment adjustments into the district’s platform within the required reporting period.Complete all prescribed documentation, including electronic prescriptions or service logs, in alignment with district and state guidelines.Review and sign service delivery scripts to verify accuracy of session documentation, ensure compliance with IEP mandates, and maintain accountability for Medicaid billing and audit requirements.Consultative ServicesProvide consultative support to classroom teachers on integrating speech improvement and language development strategies.Conduct demonstration lessons, participate in teacher conferences, and introduce new instructional materials or technologies.Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, social workers, and other pupil personnel staff to ensure coordinated support.Maintain communication with parents to review diagnostic results, therapeutic goals, and progress updates.Record all consultations, meetings, and follow-ups in the district’s documentation platform.Liaison and Professional CollaborationMaintain professional liaison with community, county, state, and national organizations related to communication disorders.Attend relevant meetings, conventions, and professional development opportunities.Ensure professional learning activities and certifications are reflected in the district’s digital system for recordkeeping.Documentation and ComplianceMaintain all notes, logs, and prescriptions in the district’s electronic documentation system.Ensure that all entries comply with FERPA, HIPAA, and district confidentiality standards.Submit required reports, progress updates, and service verifications within established district timelines.Participate in periodic audits or reviews to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance
