Greenburgh Central School District is actively seeking a Senior Director for Academic Programs. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel the Senior Director administers, plans, and coordinates the daily academic programs of the school district. Responsibility involves collaborating with directors to align academic programming throughout the district. The Senior Director is also responsible for developing all grants and special funding sources. Independent judgment is exercised in carrying out the details of the position. Supervision is exercised over faculty and assigned support staff. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESAssists senior cabinet leaders with the execution of all instructional frameworks for a comprehensive PK-12 educational program (e.g., International Baccalaureate, gifted and talented, honors/accelerated coursework, ENL/Bilingual Education/World Languages)Serves as the liaison with any contractors that develop grants on behalf of the district and is the administrator for all federal, state, and foundation grantsEnsures early childhood education (PK-2) programs are consistent across all classrooms and schoolsCoordinates all districtwide showcases of student talent (e.g., STEAM Extravaganza, Districtwide Art Show, all musicals/plays/performances)Collaborates with school principals and the instructional leadership team to identify research-based practices that are aligned with the District’s visionCollaborates with staff to develop Parent University coursesManages all compliance tools, data, and documentation associated with implementation of the District’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) PlanMonitors all after-school, extended learning, home instruction, and home schoolingEnsures prompt assignment of appropriately certified teachers to students qualifying for home instruction in alignment with state regulations for required hours of contact timeDevelops, implements, and monitors all child nutrition programs REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of the methods and practices for providing a well-rounded academic program that integrates Tier I, II, and III instruction along with enrichment opportunities. Possesses the ability to leverage state and local education plans to align academic initiatives while identifying professional development opportunities that can enhance pedagogical practices. Ability to work effectively with non-district representatives (e.g., non-public schools); ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely; both orally and in writing; sound judgment, strong leadership; innovative; flexible; tact; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Master’s Degree and five (5) years of experience as a principal or combination of principal and assistant principal experienceNew York State Teacher CertificationNew York State SDA/SDL Certification
