WOODLANDS MIDDLE HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Position Overview Greenburgh Central School District invites applications for the position of Summer School Principal for the Woodlands Middle High School Summer Credit Recovery Program. This position serves as the Program Administrator, providing overall leadership, compliance oversight, and day-to-day operational management of the summer program. Position: Summer School Principal (Program Administrator) Location: Woodlands Middle High School Effective Dates: June 24 – August 20, 2026 (Monday – Thursday) Hours: 8:00 AM – 1:15 PM daily, plus administrative time Compensation: $8,355 Courses Offered: Algebra I Credit Recovery | Biology Credit Recovery Format: Blended (In-Person + Edgenuity platform) Max Enrollment: Approximately 36 students per session Key Responsibilities Program Administration & Compliance Serve as the NYS-certified principal on-site for all hours summer school is in session, as required by NYSED regulations (8 NYCRR §100.2[a]) Ensure program compliance with NYSED Part 110 regulations, the 2026 Summer School Handbook for Administrators, and Greenburgh Central School District policies Maintain all required records including attendance, enrollment, room usage, and final grades Coordinate August 2026 Regents Examination logistics in accordance with NYSED Office of State Assessment guidance Ensure student data is accurately reported in SIRS with appropriate Program Service Codes for credit recovery (Reason B) Conduct and document required fire/evacuation drills (minimum two — one during the first week) per Education Law §807 Verify Certificate of Occupancy is valid for all occupied building spaces Staffing & Instructional Oversight Supervise and coordinate all instructional and support staff: Algebra I Teacher, Biology Teacher, Edgenuity Lab Teacher, School Counselor, ENL Teacher, and Special Education Teacher Conduct formal observations of first-year summer school teachers with appropriate pre- and post-observation conferences Collect and review daily lesson plans, teacher sign-in/sign-out records, and time sheets Facilitate faculty meetings and communicate program procedures to all staff prior to and during the program Finalize ENL and Special Education push-in schedules following student registration and review of individual student needs Student Enrollment & Scheduling Oversee student registration, enrollment verification, and scheduling for all credit recovery courses Prioritize Grade 12 students, followed by Grade 11 students, if enrollment exceeds available funding Manage student placement into the three-room rotation model (Algebra I, Biology, Edgenuity Lab) Coordinate dual-subject enrollment for students needing credit recovery in both Algebra I and Biology Attendance & Discipline Monitor daily attendance and enforce the program's attendance policy (maximum 2 absences; students may be dropped for violations) Ensure attendance records are maintained as legal documents in compliance with Part 104 of the Commissioner's regulations Notify parents/guardians of absences and intervene when attendance concerns arise Administer student discipline in accordance with Greenburgh Central School District's conduct and discipline policy Family & Community Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding program information, student progress, and attendance concerns Distribute progress report cards on or around July 16, 2026 Coordinate with school counselor on family outreach, graduation credit status, and post-program transition recommendations Health & Safety Ensure the school nurse is available during all program hours and that health services are maintained per Education Law Article 19 Ensure AEDs are accessible and that at least one trained staff member is present at all times Monitor heat-related safety protocols during summer months per NYSC Center for School Health guidelines Qualifications Required New York State certification as a School Building Leader (or School Administrator and Supervisor) — must be current and valid Minimum three (3) years of educational experience, including administrative or supervisory experience Knowledge of NYSED summer school regulations, Regents examination administration, and credit recovery requirements Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Preferred Prior experience as a summer school administrator or coordinator Familiarity with blended learning platforms, particularly Edgenuity Experience working with credit recovery populations, English Language Learners, and students with IEPs Knowledge of Greenburgh Central School District programs, policies, and community Working Conditions This is a temporary, seasonal position for the duration of the summer program. The Summer School Principal is expected to be present during all hours summer school is in session (approximately 8:00 AM – 1:15 PM, Monday – Thursday, July 6 – July 30, 2026), plus additional time for preparation, administrative duties, and faculty coordination. Compensation will be provided via a stipend; specific terms will be confirmed upon appointment.
