English Teacher- Part -TimeSpire School in Stamford, CT, is actively recruiting for an English Teacher for the 2023-2024School year, 20 hours a week. One to three years of teaching experience with middle and highschool or experience teaching in a special education classroom is a significant plus. Spire is aState-Approved Special Education school, grades 8 -12, for students with social and/oremotional challenges that preclude the student's ability to thrive in a 'normal' academic setting.Our model of individualized behavior plans and our small group setting (classes typically 6:1,some are smaller) makes us unique, and 80% of our students are district-placed.Candidates for the position must have a demonstrated passion for teaching and a collaborativestyle to work on a team prepared to meet the individualized needs of each student enrolled inour school. If you have had experience with this type of differentiated instruction, writing IEPs,coaching students, and daily challenges then you are a candidate for this position. Our schoolhas 60-65 students enrolled and has a strong, established team of leaders, teachers, and LifeCoaches who collaborate for the common goal of having each child reach their full personalpotential.Qualifications: 1 to 3 years of teaching experience to middle and high school-age students. Experience educating students who may require differentiated instruction andmay have emotional and/or learning challenges.
