Spire School in Stamford CT, is actively recruiting for an English Teacher for the 2022-2023 School year. One to three years of teaching experience required with Middle and High school students or teaching in a special education classroom is a significant plus. Spire is a State-Approved Special Education School, grades 6 - 12 for students with social and/or emotional challenges. Our model of individualized social-emotional wellness plans and our small group setting ( classes are no more than 6:1, some are smaller) makes us unique, and 80% of our students are district placed.Candidates for the position must have a demonstrated passion for teaching and a collaborative style to work on a team prepared to meet the individualized needs of each student enrolled in our school. If you have experience with differentiated instruction, writing IEPs, coaching students, and daily challenges then you are a candidate for this position. Our school has over 60 students enrolled and has a strong, established team of leaders, teachers, and life coaches who collaborate for the common goal of having each child reach their full potential.Qualifications:1-3 years of teaching experience to Middle and High School-age studentsExperience educating students who may require differentiated instruction and may have emotional and/or learning challengesMust hold/be eligible for a State of Connecticut Certification or be able to transfer New York CertificationSalary and benefits are competitive and consistent with independent schools in Fairfield/Westchester Counties.
