Education Director The Spire School Provides leadership for the development, implementation and evaluation of specialized services in compliance with state regulations and standards Plan and organize CT APSEP State ApprovalCT State Reporting for APSEPsServe as the contact person for all district and State communicationDevelop and implement Spire's Continuous School Development Plan Engage in supervisory and administrative activities to promote the educational development of each student and the professional growth of school staff Oversee Academic Dean, Teachers, Life Coaches Serve as T.E.A.M. District Facilitator Oversee OT and SLP service delivery, timesheets, and communication of billingCollaborate with the Special Education Coordinator and the Academic Dean on the implementation of students' IEPs/ILPs Collaborate with the Director of Facilities to schedule planned emergency drills Prepare for and participate in various meetings (Leadership, Executive Committee, Life Coach Meetings, Spire Weekly Meetings, Admissions, Spire Board Meetings)Attend and lead PPTs and related meetings (Pre-PPT, Quarterly, SpEd)Conduct informal hearings for students subject to disciplinary measuresCommunicate with families, teachers, life coaches, support personnel, school districts and students on matters of discipline and welfareParticipate in staff recruitment and retention proceduresIdentify appropriate areas of staff professional development and seek out learning opportunitiesPartner with Director of School Counseling to coordinate standardized testing Partner with Academic Dean to supervise and evaluate teachers and life coachesSupervise the operation of Spire’s ESY, inSPIREd Summer ProgramProvide orientation and training to incoming staffEnsure that report cards and IEP progress reports are sent to parents and school districts in accordance with the school’s and each IEPs schedule of reporting. Support staff in their interactions with familiesCT Special Ed and 092 certsAt least 5 years of leadership experience.
