The Greene Central School District seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the following:Position: Anticipated School Counselor (High School)Start Date: September 1, 2025Salary: As per GTA contract, based on experienceQualifications: • NYS Certification in School Counseling • Models a vision for preparing future-ready students • Strong collaboration, organizational, written and communication skills • Knowledge of current research, best practices, and models in the field • Knowledge of legal, professional, and ethical responsibilities of school counselors aligned to the ASCA National model • Knowledge NYS graduation requirements including pathways to graduation • Knowledge of individual and group counseling models, high school master scheduling models, college application and preparation Desired Characteristics, Responsibilities, and Duties:• Works collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to implement a comprehensive school counseling program PK-12, with primary responsibility at the high school level • Implements student-centered practices in student counseling and advisement • Maintain communication and engagement with parents/guardians in a timely fashion • Demonstrates commitment to professional development, teamwork, and innovation in the field • Collaborates with other educators, outside mental health service providers, and administrators to ensure counseling programs meet individual and district goals • Collaborates with post-secondary institutions, the military, and places of employment • Assists in coordination of family informational college nights & financial planning • Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Superintendent of SchoolsReports to: High School PrincipalHow to apply: These materials should be uploaded to OLAS at www.olasjobs.comCorrespondence should be directed to: Lisa-Marie Carter, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools Greene Central School District, 40 South Canal St. Greene, NY 13778
