Industrial arts, also known as technology education, is an educational program focused on developing practical skills and knowledge related to the use of tools, machines, and materials in manufacturing and design. It aims to familiarize students with various technical and trade areas, including woodworking, metalworking, electronics, and more. While not directly preparing students for specific trades, it provides a foundation for understanding and participating in an industrial society. The ideal candidate will have a/an: Innovative mindset for incorporating technology, digital fabrication (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, CNC routers) & mechanical fabrication into technology courses In depth knowledge of the engineering and design process Knowledge of the RTI process and ability to effectively communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growth Ability to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomes Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities Candidates must possess: Appropriate NYS certification Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relations with students, parents, and staff Understanding of meeting the needs of multicultural students AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
