The Freeport School District is seeking a knowledgeable, dynamic, child-centered and experienced administrator for a Principal position in our Intermediate School. We are seeking an administrator with a keen understanding of the curriculum, the social and emotional needs of all students as well as an understanding of the importance of the school as part of the community. Qualifications¨ NYS Administrative Certification Required (SDA/SAS/SBL)¨ Commitment to longevity in principalship in Freeport¨ Full-time administrative and supervisory experience with five years’ public-school building level experience preferred¨ Knowledge of NYS standards and assessments with ability to use data to target instruction in order to strengthen student achievement¨ Expertise in early Literacy instruction¨ Commitment to success of students with diverse needs and backgrounds, including previous experience in working with English Language Learner students¨ Motivation and creativity as an instructional leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills¨ Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in systems approaches to curriculum development, teaching and learning, data driven implementation and evaluation programs¨ Ability to build effective working conditions and involve faculty, staff, students and parents¨ Expertise in usage of technology for building management, curriculum development and instructional improvement
