Freeport Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and innovative Technology Teacher to join the Technology Department at Freeport High School. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about preparing students with real-world skills in technology, design, engineering, media, and creative problem-solving. Our program features state-of-the-art learning spaces, including a modern Video Media Studio, and offers a wide range of engaging courses such as Production Systems, Electrical Engineering, Design and Drawing, AutoCAD, Photography, and Video Game Design. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning while helping students explore career pathways in technology and media-related fields. Candidates should be enthusiastic about integrating modern technology, project-based learning, and industry-relevant skills into the classroom environment. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • An innovative mindset for incorporating technology, digital fabrication (3D Printers, Laser Cutters, CNC Routers), and mechanical fabrication into technology courses. • Experience with industry-standard software and technology platforms, including AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc.). • Strong knowledge of engineering, design, and creative production processes. • The ability to teach and integrate modern technology concepts across areas such as engineering, media production, design, photography, and digital creativity. • Knowledge of the RTI process and the ability to effectively communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growth. • Ability to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomes. • Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth and actively seek professional learning opportunities. Candidates Must Possess: Valid NYS Teaching License in Technology Education. Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, and staff. Understanding of meeting the needs of multicultural students.
