The Farmingdale Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 0.4 FTE part-time position within our elementary school program. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, support personnel, and families to evaluate, diagnose, and provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to elementary students. Key Responsibilities Direct Intervention: Provide individual and small-group speech and language therapy to students with diverse communication needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Evaluations & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive diagnostic speech, language, and communication evaluations; analyze results to determine service eligibility. IEP Development & Compliance: Draft measurable goals, prepare progress reports, and participate actively in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings. Collaboration: Consult with general and special education teachers to support classroom implementation of communication strategies and accommodations. Family Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and home-carryover strategies. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal special education mandates.
