DEAN JOB DESCRIPTION The Farmingdale High School seeks a Dean of Student Conduct who will proactively work to provide a safe learning environment for the school community. Safety needs will be identified and solutions created to address areas of concern. The Dean will work in collaboration with building level administrators , attend districtwide health and safety meetings, building level safety meetings, IST/PAC student support meetings, and participate in planning for district events. The Dean of Student Conduct should have knowledge and experience in Restorative Practices and should support student growth through relationship building and a plan for academic achievement for all students. Supports School administration in overseeing and managing student behavior and related activities Collaborates with school staff and parents to address and prevent student behavior and attendance concerns Helps monitor student conduct in classrooms, on buses, and at school events Monitors attendance Attends CSE Meetings as requested Attended IST meetings, team meetings Monitor at risk students and creates strategies for improvement Monitors the cameras Conflict resolution Assigns consequences (detentions) Meets with parents and students Assists in implementing the school discipline plan to maintain a safe and secure environment. Works with teachers and parents to resolve behavior and attendance issues that interfere with the learning process. Certain grade level responsibilities as you follow a class of students Follow students as a cohort from 9-12 Attend Freshman orientation to go over expectations Junior prom meeting Oversee Senior parking and stickers Give graduation speech Experience working with at - risk students Knowledge and demonstrated practice with restorative practices Ability to evaluate and support intervention services through the use of student data Develop accountability systems that monitor student progress , uncovering patterns and trends to support student growth and opportunities
