Director of Facilities IIA Director of Facilities II is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the cleaning and maintenance activities ofa School District’s building and grounds department. The work is performed according to established policies andprocedures and in accordance with applicable State, local, and federal laws, rules and regulations which apply to schoolfacility operations and maintenance.Qualifications:A. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology,Building Construction Technology and two years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general buildingconstruction, building maintenance or repair work in two or more of the skilled trades*, which included two yearsof supervisory experience; orB. Associate’s or higher-level degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology,Building Construction Technology and four years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general buildingconstruction, building maintenance or repair work in two or more of the skilled trades*, which included two yearsof supervisory experience; orC. Six years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance orrepair work in more than one of the skilled trades, which included two years of supervisory experience.*Skilled trades would include carpenter, electrician, mason, plumber or heating, ventilating and air conditioning installer.**Non-Qualifying Experience: building cleaning, inside or outside.Applicants MUST have a valid NYS driver’s license and asbestos certification.To be considered for this position, you must create an account and apply for the NYS Civil Service opencompetitive examination at www.cs.ny.gov. The examination will be held January 28, 2023 at a location designated by the state.There are two lists an employer will receive for this position. One list from NYS for the open competitive exam, the otherfrom Montgomery County for promotional. The employer is required to review and exhaust the promotional list beforeusing the open competitive list. To be added to the promotional list you will need to complete an application throughMontgomery County Civil Service at www.co.montgomery.ny.us along with your open competitive application throughNYS Civil Service. You must meet the open competitive qualifications to be eligible for promotional.Be advised that if you are approved for both the open competitive and promotional exam you will only be required to takeONE exam at the designated testing site with NYS Civil Service. You will receive an admission notice for both types ofexams that you must bring with you on the day of the test.
