Assistant Superintendent of Multilingual Education Location: Districtwide Type: Full-time, 12-month position Start Date: July 1, 2025Application Deadline: Open until filled Position Overview:The East Ramapo Central School District seeks an experienced, visionary, and equity-driven educational leader to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Multilingual Education. This cabinet-level position is responsible for overseeing all programs and services supporting English as a New Language (ENL), Bilingual Education, World Languages, and Central Registration. The Assistant Superintendent will set the vision, lead districtwide initiatives, and ensure compliance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations, including CR Part 154. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for multilingual learners and fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive educational environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the vision, planning, and implementation of the District’s multilingual education programs.Supervise and evaluate all departmental directors and staff.Ensure high-quality instructional practices across ENL, Bilingual Education, and World Language programming, aligned to NYSED standards and the district’s Strategic Academic Goals.Oversee Central Registration processes, ensuring efficient and accurate intake, placement, and services for multilingual learners.Develop, monitor, and adjust policies and procedures for compliance with federal and state mandates, including CR Part 154, ESSA, and Title III requirements.Serve as the district’s primary liaison to NYSED’s Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL).Lead professional learning initiatives for teachers, counselors, and administrators on instructional best practices for multilingual learners.Foster community engagement, building strong partnerships with families, community agencies, and higher education institutions.Oversee Seal of Biliteracy initiatives and advocate for expanded biliteracy opportunities.Manage budgets and resources to effectively support multilingual programs districtwide.Analyze districtwide student data to inform programming, interventions, and strategic planning.Champion and integrate the NYSED Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education Framework across all multilingual programming.Collaborate with district and building leadership to ensure multilingual learner needs are addressed in all instructional and support systems.Attend and actively participate in all district-level leadership meetings and executive cabinet meetings.Attend all Board of Education meetings and provide presentations and updates regarding multilingual education initiatives as needed.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
