Position Information: Advise High School Juniors and Seniors who qualify for and help earn the New York State Seal of Biliteracy at graduation. The responsibilities of the Seal of Biliteracy Advisor include, but are not limited to: Required Meetings: - Attend all Coordinator meetings ( dates to be determined)- Attend all Seal of Biliteracy monthly meetings with their Lead Advisor - Meet with student candidates to complete program requirements and deliverables Ensure Completion of Program Requirements and Deliverables: - Manage and monitor NYSSB Google Sheet, entering and updating student information- Review students’ transcripts to advise students on achieving required criteria or demonstrating proficiency in English and a World Language- Create, implement, and monitor a timeline, in which the student candidates must meet the New York State Education Department’s criteria for demonstrating proficiency in English and a World Language - Guides students on methods of research - Meet with student candidates monthly from October through February to complete student deliverables- Meet with student candidates weekly from March through May, to prepare projects and presentations - Maintain and provide a monthly log of the student candidate’s progress. Ensure that student candidates complete all requirements for successful completion of the NYS Seal of Biliteracy program - Work closely with the Lead Advisor to collect and maintain all student work folders and required forms - Along with Lead Advisor, serve on the presentation committee, schedule and attend student presentations Hours: $48 per hour not to exceed 30 hours (direct work with students) $35 per hour (not to exceed 10 hours (meetings with Lead Advisor and Coordinator October thru June) Dates: December 2025 through June 2025 Application Deadline: December 17th, 2025All interested candidates must complete Application Terms and Agreement.Ms. Xiomara Gonzalez will contact selected candidates for an interview.
