We are seeking a dynamic, equity-driven, and experienced Interim High School Assistant Principal to support our students, staff, and school community.Position Overview:The Interim High School Assistant Principal will work collaboratively with the principal, faculty, and district leadership to ensure a safe, supportive, and academically enriching environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while providing oversight in key operational and instructional areas.Key Responsibilities:Support the implementation of school-wide instructional programs aligned with district and state standards.Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.Assist in managing student behavior, discipline, and restorative practices.Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.Oversee attendance, academic interventions, and student support services.Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and school safety protocols.Collaborate with the principal on school operations, scheduling, and staff professional development.Foster an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.Support and implement initiatives that promote student success and equity.Qualifications:Required: New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) certification.Master’s degree in educational leadership, administration, or a related field.Minimum of three (3) years of teaching and/or leadership experience at the secondary level.Strong knowledge of curriculum, instructional best practices, and student support services.Experience with student discipline, restorative practices, and family engagement.Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering a positive school climate.Terms of Employment:Application Process:Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and two professional references through the East Ramapo Central School District’s online application portal or here on OLASjobs.org.
