Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & InstructionSalary: Commensurate with experience and district guidelinesPosition Summary:The Coordinator of Attendance & Accountability is an administrator that plays a critical role in supporting district-wide efforts to improve student achievement by enacting attendance protocols, research initiatives, and appropriate data analysis. All efforts to improve student attendance will include collaboration across multiple departments, such as Pupil Personnel Services, Multilingual Education, This position is responsible for interfacing with school personnel to review attendance data, interpret NYSED accountability data, leading discussions to improve student attendance, and leadership with the District’s PTA initiatives. Key Responsibilities:Review, monitor, and provide guidance to schools regarding student attendance. Analyze and interpret NYSED accountability metrics, (e.g. ESSA designations, growth scores, subgroup performance, and school/district-level performance indicators).Take direction to help with the development, administration, and refinement of school-based attendance procedures.Provide guidance to schools on the effective use of assessment tools (e.g., i-Ready, NWEA, Regents exams, local benchmarks).Help with the monitoring of all test administration procedures.Collaborate with Curriculum and Instruction, Pupil Personnel Services and Multilingual Education teams to integrate evidence-based strategies.Participate in District MTSS-I Leadership team and provide insight regarding attendance.Collaboratively lead coordination of District-wide PTA development across all schools.Conduct training & information sessions related to PTA & other parent/family events.Participate in District’s Family University series to provide regular attendance updates.Research, curate, plan and deliver strategies for improving attendance for all grades. Develop reports, executive summaries, and presentations for review by department lead.Qualifications:Required:Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or associated content related field.New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certification.Minimum 5 years of experience in education with demonstrated expertise in administration or related field.Understanding of NYSED accountability systems, Attendance Indexes and ESSA requirements.Preferred:Experience working in diverse, multilingual, or high-needs school districts.Proficiency in data visualization tools and educational data platforms.Bilingual Spanish and/or Haitian CreoleSkills and Attributes:Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Commitment to equity, excellence, and continuous improvement in education.Working Conditions:Full-time, 12-month position.Occasional evening and weekend hours required for meetings or professional development sessions.Travel between district buildings and to NYSED workshops/conferences as needed.
