Job Title: Speech and Language TeacherLocation: East Ramapo Central School District Position Type: Full-Time, ProbationaryThe East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech and Language Teacher to provide essential services to students with communication disorders. This is a full-time, probationary position with the potential for tenure, offering the chance to make a significant impact on students’ academic and social success. Key Responsibilities:Provide individualized and group speech and language therapy to students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students with speech and language needs.Develop and implement individualized speech and language therapy plans in accordance with students’ IEPs.Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student communication goals in all educational settings.Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed.Maintain thorough records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.Participate in CSE meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.Requirements:Valid New York State certification as a Speech and Language Teacher or Speech-Language Pathologist (TSSLD).Experience working with students in a school-based setting is preferred.Strong knowledge of speech and language development and related therapeutic interventions.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Ability to work with diverse student populations and adapt therapy techniques to meet individual needs.
