Location: Elementary (Grades K-2) Effective: Anticipated September 2023 Description: The Elwood UFSD is seeking a highly qualified/certified Special Education teacher for a full-time position (1.0 FTE) at the elementary school level. • The candidate must have experience working with special education students with varying disabilities • Recent experience working with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities • Experience with students that have significant learning and behavioral challenges • Possess strong classroom management skills, including managing classroom staff members, and behavior management techniques • Training in instruction using Teachers College Reading and Writing Project • Knowledge/experience writing IEPs • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students • Applicant must have a repertoire of evidence based instructional strategies • Candidate should have good interpersonal, written/oral communication and organizational skills Requirements: Current NYS certification in Student with Disabilities B-2 or equivalent, Currently employed or experienced with being a special education teacher Compensation: In accordance with the contract between the District and the Elwood Alliance of Teachers. .
